Annelou L.C. de Vries is sinds 2003 als kinder- en jeugdpsychiater verbonden aan het Amsterdam universitair medisch centrum.

• Consultatieve liaison kinder-en jeugdpsychiatrie, die zich in het academisch ziekenhuis in nauwe samenwerking met de kindergeneeskunde en de pediatrische psychologie richt zich op kinderen die een combinatie van lichamelijke en psychische klachten hebben.
• Een bijzonder deel van haar werk is gewijd aan jongeren die lijden aan genderdysforie. Naast klinisch werk doet De Vries ook wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar deze groep jongeren.
• Annelou is ook betrokken bij het onderwijs aan medische studenten en verpleegkundigen en specialisten in opleiding tot kinderpsychiater en kinderarts.
